About Me

My name is Joan and I am a Kinesiologist based near Enniskillen in the beautiful County Fermanagh.

I provide Kinesiology therapy for both people and animals as well as delivering Kinesiology training courses. Please contact me to find out how I can help you.

Kinesiology is an alternative therapy and has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chiropractic methods.  It incorporates techniques such as acupressure and meridian balancing, gentle structural manipulation, massage and nutrition.  Kinesiology works to balance all systems of the body and can help with any health issue whether it’s physical, mental, emotional or bio chemical.

A blend of both online treatment and studies are designed for students whose scheduling commitments would otherwise make it difficult to enroll in a face-to-face course. Offered for individual courses and treatments online.  We also have a few courses that can be taken face to face.

Where it all began

I was a professional Chef and trained in Tourism College Killybegs Co Donegal. I cooked for 14 years and I worked for various top restaurants in Cavan, Sligo, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Belfast, Lisburn, Belturbet managing busy kitchens and teams of chefs. As everyone knows a chef’s job has a lot of pressure and is very stressful.

In 2001 I suffered back pain, I went down the medical route but to no avail. Luckily another chef recommended a therapist (Orla Brady) who used kinesiology which sorted my back out in just one session. I didn’t think much about it as her treatment was so gentle.

I continued catering and moved to Belfast. In 2004 I developed a frozen shoulder and I attended my GP but I could not get relief. I then went private for various treatments acupuncture, Chiropractor, Physiotherapy and sports massage over two months with no success.

I decided to find the kinesiologist who I attended when I had back pain. I booked a treatment for my shoulder and I had finally relief 2 days after the treatment.

This was a light bulb moment for me. I wanted to know how did it work and why?

I then went on to study this fantastic advanced complimentary therapy.  I found a huge difference in my mood for work and was so calm and relaxed. I felt I was a different person who could cope now with the demanding work load or a chef in a busy bistro restaurant in The Plough Inn Hillsborough.

I started to train in kinesiology and in 2007 I became a professional Kinesiologist. I gave up my full-time career cooking and went on to set up a very successful Kinesiology clinic looking after the young and old with all types of ailments. I love working in clinic each case is so unique to that person and its heart-warming to hear the good results.

I have since completed many Advanced Kinesiology courses with Hugo Tobar in Ireland and Austria. And I continue to further my studies in Neuro-energetic kinesiology.

Horses have always been in my life and I now managed to tie this in with my work. While studying the kinesiology I found it was amazing and worked really well on animals.  I then met a Kinesiology Instructor who had used it on his race horses in Australia. I went on to study various equine courses, Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology, Massage, and I attended a synopsis with Dr Kerry Ridgeway and Manalo Mendez in the UK June 2014.

I had not intended to work on cattle until one day a client asked me to treat their cow who had lay down a week before she calved. 3 weeks later and still no sign of her getting up. I did one kinesiology session and the cow got up. My practice includes all animals and offers a mobile service.

In the last 12 years, I have worked with numerous top Irish horses and Riders from all spheres including, Racing, Show jumping and Eventing, Pony and Junior riders who competed for Ireland, many family pets.  I am Principal of Neuro-energetic Kinesiology College in Ireland since 2015. I organise the groups for kinesiology diploma and advanced neuro energetic kinesiology courses throughout Ireland.
